Berthold Auerbach (1812-1882). Born as Moses Baruch Auerbacher.
German-Jewish author - Deutscher autor.
Studied first Jewish theology to become a rabbi but had to break his study after
problems with the law. He wrote books in which the traditional way of
life of the farmer became the subject.
His books influenced Balzac and Tolstoi.
