Guiseppe Garibaldi (1807-1882).
Italian general and freedom fighter. Proclamed in 1849 the Republic of Rome.
He was the orginazor of the march of the 1000 against Sicily. He disloged the king
of Naples and after proclamation of the Kingdom of Italy he retreated to Caprera.
In 1862 and 1867 he made attempts to attack the state within the state: the church.
He fought in the French-German war of 1870 on the French side.

Cdv prob. by Le Gray although no backmark. Ca 1860-61.

Sizes ca 2 3/8 x 3 7/8 inches.

Condition is, except for two medium scratches at the bottom of which one with
minor loss at the edge, excellent. Original is slightly browner toned.
