Henry Brougham (1778-1868), 1st Baron Brougham and Vaux.
British lawer and politician, advocated a.o. social reforms; was against
slavery which accumulated in the abolitian of slavery act in 1833.
He was also a very active supporter of the Society for the diffusion of useful
knowledge (SDUK) and the Ragged schools union.

Cdv by Maull & Polyblank, London. Ca 1860's.

Size ca 2 5/16 x 3 9/16 (photo) and 2,5 x 4 inches (mount).

Condition is good with tiny retouching spots.
Original is slightly darker and brown toned (scan shows greenish).
