W.Hammerschmidt - Toms of the Khalifs

W.Hammerschmidt - Tombs of the Khalifs. Ca 1860's.
Research learned that this is an image by W.Hammerschmidt and that he
originally signed and numbered it at left lower corner "W.Hammerschmidt 14"
in the negative.
For the above photograph has been contemporary trimmed ca 2 cms at the
bottom the signature does not appear on it.

Albumen print. Corner mounted on thin album page.

Sizes of print ca 311 x 209 mm / 12 1/4 x 8 3/16 inches.

Condition is fair/good with some discolouring at edges; some light wrinkling
where mounted; two -a large and a smaller- ironed fold at right upper corner;
a mild spot at upper edge; minor soiling and writing at reverse of photo shines
slightly through.
Mount with some mild spotting.

Original is sharp and slightly browner toned.
