Venice, bronze well made by Alfonso Alberghetti -finished in 1559- on the
inner court of the Palace Ducale. A group of four girls and a boy around the well, all with water buckets. Behind them, on the stairs, a few tourists (?) viewing the palace. Titled in the negative "68 C. Venezia. Cortile du. Pal. Ducale". Signed at right lower corner in the negative "Co. Naya fot." Mounted -on part of album page- albumen photograph by Carlo Naya. Ca 1877. Sizes ca 189 x 242 mm / 7 3/4 x 9,5 inches. Condition is very good / near excellent with some cracking of emulsion and a few tiny lighter toned dots. Original is sharp and a bit darker brown toned (scan shows a bit too sepia). Sold |
