Venice - Ponte dei Sospiri. Titled in the negative "9. Venezia Ponte dei Sospiri". Mounted albumen photograph by Carlo Naya. c 1877. Although not signed - the work and the way it is titled is characteristic for Naya. Size ca 7 3/8 x 9 3/8 inches / ca 187 x 240 mm. Condition is good with at right and bottom some discolouring (in original medium brown toned - scan shows greenish); a few little lighter toned specs and on a building (just under the bridge) a white area being an imperfection from the time of printing. Original is slightly lighter toned. Edge discolouring of original is less serious than scan depicts. Price € 70 |
