Two photochromes depicting local people of Jordan and Palestine. Ca 1890's. The first shows two bedouins nomades at Siloe (near Jerusalem) and the other bedouins of Jordan. Printed captions in gold at bottom of photos. "15,111. P.Z. Bedouins nomades de Siloe." "15,125. P.Z. Types d bedouins a L'est du Jourdain." Back to back mounted on part of album leaf. Sizes of photographs ca 16,5 x 22,5 cms / 6,5 x 8 3/4 inches. In very good/near excellent condition with some minor very light staining at top edge of first photo some light scuffing (showing slightly matt when holding at an angle). Mount with some spotting. Originals are sharp, a bit darker toned with deeper colours. Sold |
