  Daniel MacLise (1806-1870).
  Irish Painter.
 
  He made portraits of the literary and other celebrities of his time and
  made also illustrations for Dickens' books.
  His was a forerunner of the Pre-Raphaelites but his work is visibly influenced
  by  them.
  His work can be found in museums around Britain.

  The photograph comes together with a contemporary biography from the
  July 1858 edition of "Photographic portraits of living celebrities".

  Condition is, except for tiny spots, very good.
