George Cruikshank 1792-1878

George Cruikshank 1792-1878.
English illustrator and caricaturist.
He made illustrations for the books of Charles Dickens and the Grimm brothers and
also social and political cartoons.
Among many other children books he also illustrated "The History of Jack and the
Beanstalk" and "Cinderella" which were part of the "Fairy Library" serie of which
he was the editor.

Sized ca. 4 7/8 x 7,5 inches / 123 x 189 mm.

Condition is good/very good - with a medium scratch at left (see shoulder) and
a scuff at left as well (when holding at an angle showing a bit matt) and two thin,
minor scratches at right.
Original is sharp and a bit browner toned (backdrop shows in scan a bit greenish).
