Lorenzo Bartolini (1777-1850).
After becoming a known sculpturor in Italy he studied from the age of 20 painting and sculpturing in Paris.
Amongst others he sculptured a bust for Byron and Napoleon, who became his most influential
patron.

He writes to an unknown person that he dislikes the attitude of Italians who betray their King,
Carlo Alberto. They are worse than Austrians !
He then asks if the writer already contacted a Mr. Pareto and if not if he would hurry to do so and request to hurry with making a model for a (bronze) statue of Carlo Alberto as agreed. It should not cost more then the material ! He signed as "Bartolini, Italian".
The brother of the mentioned Pareto is most probably Lorenzo Pareto a supporter of a united
italy.

Manuscript letter written in blue ink on 1 side with sizes ca 185 x 229 mm or 7 1/4 x 9 inches.
In left upper corner an impressed lilly.

Condition is very good with Two old vertical and two old horizontal folds and a brown stain at
right edge.
At reverse a small area on inner edge brownish. Paper slightly more brown/yellow toned.
