Giuseppe Mario (1810-1883). Famous 19th century Italian tenor.
Born as Giovanni Matteo de Candia.
He married the singer Giulia Grisi.
Unsigned authograph letter of 4 sides by the famous tenor to his daughter Rita. Dated Madrid 26th of October 1863.
He writes to his daughter Rita about him being lonely and sick (coldness) in Madrid but in the company of a little dog.
Accompenied with a mounted carte de visite photograph (trimmed) by Disderi.
Letter sized 4,5 x 3,5 inches or 113 x 88 mm when folded.
Condition is very good with ironed fold out of center and two mild bends in right part of letter; two little slips of paper with which the letter was fixed to album page and a few small, mild spots.
Cdv is mounted on part of album page; is trimmed and has retouched spots.
Provenance: From an album compiled in the 1880's-1910 by Admiral Bromley and/or his wife.
