William Victor Paley was the son of the Reverend George Barber Paley (1799-1880) and Catherine Anne Robertson (c1809-1878).
He married in 1869 Augusta Harriet Nepean who was the daughter of Evan Nepean (1800-1873) and Anne Jenner-Fust (c1809-1871).
